The highly anticipated Global Travel Meet 2025, held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur from October 1-3, 2025, has successfully concluded, marking a pivotal moment in Malaysia’s tourism evolution. Organized by Tourism Malaysia, this landmark event showcased Malaysia’s commitment to establishing itself as the next global travel destination and set the stage for the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, inaugurated the event with a powerful speech emphasizing the significance of Global Travel Meet in boosting Malaysia’s tourism industry.

The event brought together 400 Malaysian travel and tourism sellers, 600 international buyers, and 100 media representatives from 45 countries, exemplifying Malaysia’s dedication to expanding its global tourism partnerships.
Global Travel Meet 2025 served as a dynamic platform for networking, peer learning, and forging strategic business relationships. Participants engaged in B2B sessions and showcased Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings through captivating product presentations, spotlighting the country’s attractions for the upcoming year.

Key collaborations with airlines such as Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and Batik Air, alongside industry associations including MICA (Malaysian Inbound Chinese Association), MITTA (Malaysian Indian Tour and Travel Association), and others, will play a vital role in strengthening Malaysia’s position in worldwide travel trade.

The event culminated with a glamorous Gala Dinner at The Grand Ballroom, Sunway Resort Hotel, Selangor, where Tourism Malaysia unveiled its Calendar of Events for 2026.

A special address by Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting Malaysia as a premier travel destination for both domestic and international tourists.

Guests enjoyed captivating traditional performances featuring Malaysian cultural dances and music throughout the night.

On the final day, international media participated in an exclusive cooking demonstration by renowned Malaysian celebrity chef, Chef Ismail Ahmad of Restaurant Rebung, Kuala Lumpur. Chef Ismail showcased how to prepare Roti Jala, a traditional Malay lace pancake served with curry, offering a delicious taste of Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage.

The event also included a traditional Malaysian food tasting, giving international attendees a firsthand experience of Malaysia’s vibrant flavors.

Post-event “fam tours” organized by Tourism Malaysia allowed delegates to explore Malaysia’s stunning destinations including Selangor, Melaka, Perak, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah.

These immersive experiences showcased Malaysia’s diverse offerings, from cultural heritage sites to eco-tourism and adventure activities, inspiring participants to promote Malaysia as the ultimate travel destination.
As Malaysia gears up for Visit Malaysia 2026, the success of Global Travel Meet 2025 underscores the nation’s ambitious vision to lead the global tourism industry. With continued strategic partnerships and captivating experiences, Malaysia is set to become the next must-visit destination for travelers worldwide.
